Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
My studio is tucked in the heart of downtown Vancouver, WA and I cater to couples and families all over Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon. The studio is mostly used for newborns, little one's under the age of one and for viewing sessions and consultations. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful and I love to shoot outdoors whenever possible. Some of my favorite locations to photograph are Round Lake in Camas, Lewisville Park in Battle Ground, Fort Vancouver in Downtown, Vancouver and practically anywhere in the Columbia River Gorge.
What is your photography style?
My style is a blend of creative and documentary. I love simplicity and always want my subjects to shine. I love to capture those authentic, emotional, candid moments. It is always my goal to capture your family doing the things that come naturally to you. I may ask you to do or say some things that are of silly in order to draw these interactions out. Don't be surprised if I start to bust a move, jump around or just plain act like a goofball. Oftentimes, these will be your favorite photographs - the ones you will treasure forever.
When should we book?
I love the warm golden light that comes before the sunset in the evening so it is my preferred time to photograph outdoor sessions and because of this my calendar can fill up quickly. I suggest booking your session as far out as possible. Every pregnancy is different but maternity sessions generally take place between 30 and 35 weeks. Newborns are best photographed in the first 14 days of life so booking your newborn session while still pregnant is best.
What should we expect?
Before your session we will set up a consultation either over the phone or at the studio, this will give us a chance to get to know each other and allow me to get a better feel for your wants and needs. During your consultation we will nail down the time and location of your session. All session require a retainer to secure your slot and the remaining balance of your session fee is due at the time of your session.
At your session I want you to relax and have fun! Session times vary depending on the type of session but there is never a rush, stressing about time is no fun.
After your session it is time to go home and relax! I will go through the images from your session and select the best. Once I have the "final cut" selected, you are invited back to my studio to experience the moment you have been eagerly awaiting. We will go through all of your wonderful photos and you can see first hand the beautiful albums, print products, and wall display options that are available. You will leave knowing that you will soon have beautiful portraits to display in your home.
Do you provide digital files?
Yes and no.
Your session investment covers my time and talent and does not come with any prints or products. After your session, you are invited to come back to the studio to view your photos. At the viewing session you will have the opportunity to purchase any prints or products that you desire from the a la carte menu.
When do we receive our photos?
Viewing sessions are generally booked 1 to 2 weeks after your session. To cut down on my time spent at the computer and to keep turnaround time low, your photos are only proof edited for your viewing session. All images that are purchased are fully edited before orders are sent into the lab. Prints and wall art are delivered to you 2 to 3 weeks after order is completed.
Do you travel?
I am more than happy to travel for a session, there may be travel fees for session more than 30 miles from the studio. Travel fees are a case by case basis and do vary.
We want to book a session, what next?
Hooray! I am so excited to create beautiful memories together! The first step to booking a session is setting up a consultation either over the phone or in the studio, please CONTACT BRIANNA
